Title: What Awaits, acrylics on deep canvas, H60xW120 cm
A polar bear rests on the ice with its eyes closed and its face turned toward the light. The sky glows peach and gold, and the warmth catches along its neck and chest. Drips of paint run down through the fur and into the blue ice below.
What Awaits is one of a pair with What Has Passed. Both are about the pause between what was and what's coming, and the calm of simply being where you are. Here the bear faces forward, toward whatever the day brings.
The two paintings can be bought on their own or together.
